Summer of Events

The bees are busy enjoying all the lavender in my garden!

The bees are busy enjoying all the lavender in my garden!

We are already into the glorious month of August and I’m wondering how the first part of the year seemed to slip by me, almost unnoticed.  Once we reach August, I almost feel that I have to make the most of the summer before it’s all over. In my opinion it’s the best season.

Today I’m writing from my favourite spot in the garden and you may have already guessed it’s next to the lavender.  Thankfully the bees are my best friends, as there’s a very loud and frantic buzzing all around me!

For me, July literally flew by as it saw my return to working full time again.  It came with its wonderful, but exhausting heat wave.  We had a fun filled three days at Tatton Park Foodies Festival, in the Cheshire Quality marquee, with familiar faces and some new ones too.  As you can imagine there was delicious food everywhere and I can never resist a frozen yogurt, topped with Maltesers!

No sooner had we packed up from the festival and we were on the road to Harrogate, to the five day Home and Gift Fair.  It was a busy few days topping up stocks and loading the van up with supplies and display unit for our exhibition stand. It turned out to be a remarkable few days, both for the business and socially too.  Each afternoon, the sundowner gin on the lawn was definitely appreciated!

We were lucky to have been placed amongst some great and interesting businesses and new friendships were formed.  Whilst we exhibited several large orders were placed and already candles, wax melts and reed diffusers have been finding their way to new stockists.

July became a very sociable month for us and one of the best things, apart from our product orders, was meeting and chatting to so many interesting and lovely people, after months of virtual silence!  I thought it would be tiring, but it turned out to be refreshing and healing.

If you keep an eye out on my instagram you’ll be able to see where Apold’s products are travelling to, up and down the country.  We have a new candle launching very soon which I’m very excited about.  I don’t want to reveal too much but it is a great addition to our signature range. If you sign up to our newsletter you my subscribers will be notified first as soon as it launches in our online shop.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and stay tuned, as I’ve made a decision to write more blog posts!
